Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate in Ironman Louisville 2009 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. On August 30th I will attempt to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run a marathon, 26.2 miles.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
For those who are asking What is the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and Team in Training? here is a brief overview.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is committed to fighting blood-related cancers and improving the quality of life for patients and their families.
25 years ago, only 5% of children diagnosed with leukemia survived; today the survival rate is 81% thanks to research supported by organizations such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training is the world's largest endurance sports training program. The program provides training to run or walk marathons and half marathons or participate in triathlons and century (100-mile) bike rides. Since 1988, more than 360,000 volunteer participants have helped raise more than $850 million.
I am committed to raising at least $8,000 to help in the fight against blood cancers and I need your help and support to accomplish this huge undertaking.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. All donations are tax deductable. NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL (or too large).
Making a donation is easy! You can donate online, or you can mail a donation as well! Please know, every donation makes a difference! To mail a check, please make the check out to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and mail to:
