Let's Cure Cancer

At this point the most athletic photo I found is of me picking grapes (now with action shot inlay!). You might think that's not athletic (is pathetic the opposite of athletic?) but then you've probably never tried picking a half ton of grapes! 6 months from now I wonder if picking grapes will still feel like a workout?
Between now and then I am going to train for, and then ride, a 100 miles on my new bike (that I have to buy). On June 6th I will be riding in the ride known as Americas Most Beautiful Ride (AMBR) a 100 mile jaunt around the rim of Lake Tahoe.
I am doing this for 2 reasons the simple one... get in shape and be a healthier person. The second is a way for me to give back to the support system that has given Rebecca and I so much over the last 10 years. Since Rebecca's cancer diagnosis we have felt so blessed by everything we have received and this is a way for me to give something back. The money that I am raising through this event is going to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society an organization that supports cancer research and services for people and families touched by cancer.
Please help by sponsoring my effort... believe me... this is a big challenge for me and I need all the support I can get.
I will update this page regularly so check back often!
Well I've had the new bike for a week now and Ilove it. I just came back from a 25 mile ride feeling fresh and ready to go! This really does get easier each time I go out.
The first ride was about 12 miles. I rode slow, I rode steady and Imade it without too much trouble. Another week and my beautiful new bike will arrive... more about that later.
