My tribute to Matt Morrell and my father.

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in an Ironman as a member of Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop cancer.

I lost my father last year to cancer, and a close friend, Matt Morrell, to Leukemia. I felt helpless at the time, but now I have found a way to make a difference.

Yawn right? I am sure you have gotten these before, and I am usually unimpressed by someone "training" to do something that they can already do. Here is where it is different: In an Ironman you start off swimming 2.4 miles. I can't swim AT ALL. I have to learn how to swim from scratch and be able to do that swim in under 2.5 hours or I get kicked out of the race. If I do that, then I ride 112 miles on a bike and then run a full marathon after that. I am giving up about 20 hours a week to train for this, and there is a good chance that I either won't make it or I will drown trying. If I don't finish for ANY reason your donation will be refunded X 2. So, if I finish you can feel good knowing that you helped people suffering from a terrible disease. If I don't then you still helped people and made a healthy profit.

FYI - this money doesn't go into some black hole that nobody ever sees benefit from. I have personally seen the individuals that this money helps, and it makes a world of difference to them.

Please make a donation to help some good people that really need a hand, and possibly make some money ;^).
