I'm training for the Oakland Running Festival, which is happening in Oakland for the first time in twenty-five (25) years, on March 28, 2010, as a proud member of Team Tenacious Raji!!

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training is dedicated to raising money to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma. Leukemia is the number one disease killer of children between 1 and 14. Every 5 minutes, someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every day I learn of another elder whose presence and wisdom I appreciated, who passed on because of leukemia or some other type of blood cancer. Founded in 1949, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has funneled more than $100 million to research to find the cure; only 25% of the funds it raises go toward covering its overhead expenses.

My Firm, Price And Associates, will be sponsoring my race, along with my wonderful family, friends and clients. I will be running a half marathon through the Oakland hills in honor of all those who are battling blood cancers, and especially my two eternal team members, Brenda and Raji. Brenda and Raji lost their battle with the disease, but they inspired me and so many others to keep fighting. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

On Saturday, February 6th, I ran ten (10) miles in the cold rain - but if you think that's hard, try chemo!!! Since then, I've been running and running and running!! And, people have been sending in their money, so we exceeded the goal of $5,000!! This has been an amazing season of giving and inspiration. I am so proud of everyone who made a contribution to this wonderful cause!! Thank you so much for your support and helping me meet my deadline and step way over the goal mark.

Please feel free to make a generous donation to help us find a cure in our lifetime. We have exceeded the goal for this event, but we still need a cure. So many people need to know that we care.
