Racing to Save Lives
Hello Everybody!
This all started in March when I decided to try a spin class at my local gym.I got hooked, have taken nearly 200 classes and now, ten months later, I've returned the bike I had borrowed, and now have my own to continue this journey with.. I am training for a real ride for a real cause.
I have regestred to ride the Sulvang Century (100mi) as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. I am riding in honor of my brother-in-law Glen Demarcus who is served our country as a medic in Veitnam. Because of his exposure to Agent Orange during his service, he was diagnoised last year with blood cancer. I will be wearing his initials on my jersey as I ride the 100 miles in Solvang.
As I train and ride with my team every week I learn about people like Glen, that are fighting for thier lives to beat blood cancer.I also learn about those who have lost the fight. As I train, I'm gaining greater cycle fitness. But more importantly, as a member of Team In Training I have committed to raise funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
Whether we are family, friends from church, the gym , school or maybe you know my husband Doug or are friends with one or more of our seven children, it would be so appreciated if you could sponsor me by donating directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training., at this link: susanrides.2ya.com
or cut and paste this into your address bar: http://www.pages.teamintraining.org/sd/solvang10/sgardnelk6
As an incentive, this past Christmas our son Weston has created a new arrangement of "Carol of the Bells" for our family to sing. We have professionally recorded it . You are welcome to download it free here.

If you could make a donation that would be wonderfuly helpful, if not enjoy the song with our blessings.
I will contunie to work hard and train well to attain my goal to complete the 100 mile race, with your donation ,you can help advance LLS's mission to find a cure for blood cancer.
Every Saturday the rides are getting more and more difficult, but I am determined to work hard with my team and make your donation count. Be sure to check my Facebook page every Saturday to see my progress.
Thanks for your support!
Sincerely,
Susan Gardner
