Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
In 2001 my father died from Acute Myloid Leukemia. In 2005, my husband's best friend, Jesse- a man who was like a brother to me, was diagnosed with small cell lymphoma- a result of lung cancer. That was when I first joined Team in Training and completed my first triathlon. Sadly, Jesse lost his battle just a few short month later. However, my experience at Team in Training left me the gift of health and motivation and I continued to do endurance events after that.
In August 2011, I was diagnosed with advanced stage 3 breast cancer. On Team, we put the names of all the people we know and love who have been effected by cancer on our jersey's on race day. I never EVER thought my name would go on a jerse. After chemotherapy and radiation, I have found my endurance and motivation zapped. I am re-joining Team in Training to regain what cancer has tried to take away from me. I will do this, but I need your help. I have committed to raise $1900 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. I owe my life to many of the advances that were first made by this incredible organization. But if I don't meet my goal, I will not participate in this Triathlon. If you can help with any amount- it would mean so much to me. I must show the world and myself that there is life after cancer- and not just for Lance Armstrong, but for a regular person like me.
Thank-you so much for your help.
