The Journey Continues
Oct 05, 2011
When I joined TEAM in 2009, many alumni on the team said this experience would be "Life Changing". I had no clue what that was suposed to mean and dismissed it. I thought it was such a cliché - I mean, how could one predict how and what would be life changing for me? Little did I know, I really underestimated that one and couldn't have been more wrong because indeed. . . . joining TEAM to do my first triathlon (Wildflower), was beyond life changing! I'm not only hooked on triathlons, I've become hooked and very committed to this amazing organization and cause.
I've since completed 4 events with TEAM, 2 of which I've reached Fundraising Rock Star status and with the help and generosity of countless friends, family and even strangers--have raised a grand total of $11,882 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Once I reach this seasons goal of $2650, I will have raised $14,532 for the cause. A feat I'm really looking forward to achieve. A feat I KNOW I can achieve.
So, yes! Having said that...the rumors are all true...I'm back! TEAM is so much a part of my everyday life, I just couldn't resist. I'm back for my 3rd consecutive season and training for yet another triathlon that will be taking place next year in March. Even though training hasn't officially kicked off and won't for a few more months, I'm already fundraising! = )
I've met many (frankly too many) who have been affected by blood related diseases and each story continues to break my heart. These poeple are all the true heros of the team and are the reasons why I continue to train and fundraise. Even though I've crossed the finish line at each of these events, the ultimate finish line is creating a world without cancer and finding a cure!
Their stories of faith, hope and heroism moves me beyond measure and continues to inspire me to be a part of this movement to help fight cancer. I'm asking YOU TO JOIN ME so we can all make a stand against cancer. No effort or donation is too small to make a difference. With your support and donation, together...one day, we will reach the ultimate finish line. Go TEAM!
Please consider making a donation to help me make a stand against cancer today.
