I want to share the story of my friend, Kevin. Kevin was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2007. After years of treatment and recovery,  today he is in remission and recovering well. 

However, not everyone is as fortunate as Kevin. Blood cancer can affect people at any age. People lose their friends, loved ones; families lose their bread winners, year after year, week after week, day after day. Can we have a 100% successful cure for this disease? It turns out that the end is near: multi-drug chemotherapy, stem-cell transplantation, etc that have changed the landscape of blood cancers. 

For more than 60 years, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) has helped pioneer innovations once thought impossible. T-cell immunotherapies, which have received significant press attention, can train a patient's own immune system to seek out and kill cancer cells specifically. LLS has been funding teams pursuing this research since 1992. 

I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in the San Diego Full Marathon as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. 

I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients as well.
