Hello Family & Friends!
Thank you for your amazing support as I embarked on training for my fifth full marathon and fundraise for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
I'll be running the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon on June 1, 2014.
Joining Team in Training has been a life changing experience. Over these past two years, with your help, I've raised over $8,000 to fight blood cancers and had a blast accomplishing it!
My favorite running partners- Miranda and Kendall

Our mighty team in San Francisco
This season I will be running in honor of my best friend, Katie Hannafin, and her uncle Billy, who passed away from Leukemia on April 30th, 2013.
Your donations are being used to generate research which has helped developed many breakthroughs in treatment such as:
1. Since 1949, survival rates have quadrupled for blood cancer patients thanks to innovative research funded by LLS.
2. A better understanding of which genetic and molecular abnormalities cause particular blood cancers has allowed for more successful treatments that are highly selective in targeting cancer cells, while sparing the normal cells. This causes fewer side effects associated previous treatment methods.
3. LLS is developing better treatment methods for children. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia(ALL) is a cancer that normally causes significant medical complications in children, but LLS has made significant strides in developing new, less toxic treatments for Pediatric ALL.
4. LLS has invested more than $875 Million in research, approximately $68.4 million in fiscal year 2012 alone. Many of you have contributed to this. Since January 2012, with your help we have successfully raised $ 3383.60 for LLS research.
further funding and donations, LLS has goals to:
1. Develop more accelerated treatment programs. This means speeding up the research process and bringing the finished product to the patients faster, essentially saving more lives.
2. Partnering with biotechnology companies to develop more cutting edge therapies that might not otherwise reach blood cancer patients.
3. Overcome obstacles that may prevent patients from participating in clinical trials that could provide the best possible treatments options.
