An Angel On My Shoulder
Mar 30, 2011 by Jonas Kruckeberg

The following poem was written by Jessica Smith - honorary teammate with Team In Training LLS North County. I met Jessica on one of our training runs. She was with Eve Selis on Pacific Coast Highway near Las Olas. She high-fived me as I ran past and I was so moved by her presence that I jumped at the first chance I had to be in her presence again. She offered to write a poem about anyone or anything that we choose in return for a donation to Eve's fundraising. I couldn't resist, so I asked her to write a poem about my mom.
What I ask for any of you that read it, is to pass it on, share, re-post and if you so desire, allow Jessica to write a poem for you (of course in return for a small donation to Eve's fundraising). http://pages.teamintraining.org/sd/rnr11/eselis
I plan on making a video with Jessica and Eve with this poem and welcome your input on how you'd like to see it presented.
Enjoy!
An Angel On Your Shoulder
On the day she brought you into this world you were the apple of her eye
She cared for you and watched you grow until you were ready to fly!
Your mom cared for many always lending a helping hand
She always had her door open anytime day or night
All that mattered to her was the person was alright!
When the cancer hit her she faught with all her might
She stayed until the angels told her that the time was right!
Even though she is not with you, she is far from gone
You have an angel on your shoulder now
Guess what its your mom!
She is still right with you and everyone she held so dear
Even though you can’t hear her she’s always whispering in your ear
She’s right there on your shoulder through all your joy and fear
No matter what she’ll always be very close and near!
When race day comes and your nervous
You will not be alone
She will be right with you
Right where she’ll always be
And when you cross the finish line
She’ll Say thank you for running for me!

2011 - A New Year, New Beginnings
Feb 01, 2011 by Jonas Kruckeberg
-
2011 is a brand new year, a year of new beginnings, of new memories, new relationships, new ideas and new goals.
This year one of my goals is to finish the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon San Diego on June 5, 2011 with Team in Training. It doesn't matter how I finish, it matters most on how I get to the starting line. You see, in order to make it to race day not only is there vigourous training but a challenge to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I don't just want to raise funds, I want to raise awareness and blow the top off the fundraising minimum, but I can't do that without your help.
All of us know someone that has been diagnosed, survived or passed on due to cancer. By donating today to the LLS or any society that you feel passionate about, allows you to honestly say that you helped in the fight to find a cure.
Over the next 5 months, there will be live functions, online events, constant blog updates and more videos sharing the moments of training, discovery and emotions. I invite you to check back often, save to your favorites, and SHARE with friends, family and co-workers.
Please email me at jonasloans@gmail.com to get involved in one of my functions over the next few months or just to chat.

Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
