Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team's Team In Training home page.

We are training to run the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon as members of The

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In

Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin

lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. We are completing this event

in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people

are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the

ultimate finish line - a cure!

Some of you may know, my (Marcy's) mother died in 2007 of lymphoma. She was my best friend and I miss her more than anything. I am specifically running this race and raising money in her honor and I dragged Mark into doing it, too :). I am doing this to help prevent anyone else from ever having to go through what my family and I went through with the loss of my mom.

We are doing several fund raising activities, including an opportunity drawing for Starbucks gift bags, art and more (entries are $5 each, you can donate via the website or in person. Donations for the drawing can be made up until May 21st and the drawing will be on May 24th).

Our training is going well. So far we are up to about 30-35 miles a week, with our long runs being about 20 miles! I know, we're crazy, but it does get easier as we run more.
