This year I got Brian to join me in my quest against cancer and together we are going to swim, bike and run our way to the big island of Hawaii and compete together at the Lavaman Olympic triathlon on March 28th.

We are training together to raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Having both lost our mothers to cancer this is a cause very near and dear to us. We wish our journey with cancer could have ended there but we have lost many since. Week two of training we had a friend diagnosed with Lymphoma which makes it all that much easier to get into the pool in the cold (we will be swimming in the ocean in January BRRRR), on the bikes when its rainy and windy and out running on the weekends. (Okay maybe it isnt that bad here in sunny San Diego, but it has been known to rain once every 163 days or so!!!) We know what cancer patients and what their families go through during this process and hope that with our training and your generous donations that it will make that journey for those diagnosed a bit easier.

Over the years you have all helped me to raise a TON of money and I am truly thankful. You are making a difference in so many peoples lives. Lives that you may know already, lives of those that will be diagnosed in the future and lives of thousands that you will never meet.

This year we are hoping to raise $10,000 between the both of us. The world may be in a recession but cancer didn’t seem to get that memo. Please consider donating to this cause!
