Hello Friends, Family and Supporters:
I am participating in the America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride in Lake Tahoe, CA this coming June, 5, 2011. I will be training for the next 18 weeks to complete this endurance century ride. Previously I have completed 13 other century events for Leukmemia and Lymphoma Society, and I am looking forward to another America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride in Lake Tahoe this June.
I am a mentor this year which means that I will be assisting other riders to complete the century ride, and I am hoping that everyone is going to have lots of fun in the process.
In 2002 our son Sean was diagnosed with CML and that is when both Lisa (my wife) and I became activally involved in Team in Training in an effort to support Sean. In the process of doing the century rides we have been so fortune to build a community of supporters and it was a great way to meet other people and families who had been affected by Leukemia.
We continue our riding and raising money for the cause, because the doctors still do not have a cure for CML. Sean is now on a new medication which is three times stronger than the previous drug they were treating him with, both Lisa and I can't wait for the day that his doctors allow him to cease treatment...we don't know when that day may come but we continue to pray.
Please support Lisa and I in our combined efforts to raise money for this very worthy cause. We have vowed to keep riding until Leukemia Society finds a cure.
Thanks fo much for your support in advance, your empathy and compassion are truly appreciated.
