This weekend I was awarded the Saturday practice SPIRIT JERSEY! for my 502 concert and keeping up with this page. Apparently not everyone shares TMI personal details on their public forum TNT fundraising site. Moment of eww: a toenail dug into the flesh its neighbor toe and my sock was bloody after the run. This happens to me occasionally [because I'm lazy] and Lucas has dubbed this condition 'bloodfoot'. We have toyed around with writing a song with that title [subject matter non-podiatric, however] Although that would be an album for a certain, very-niche audience: Toe Jams.
Very willing to trade the gross and the outre for cash, you guys.
6 miles this weekend! It was muggy and thick at 6 am. It reminded me of summer in St Louis, which my mother describes, vividly, as 'like being in the womb'.
[Swimming motions, glub glub]
ME:This feels like jogging in 87 degree maple syrup.
ONLOOKERS:Do you think we should ask that woman if she needs help?!

Running intervals (in my case 4 minutes running, 1 minute walking) has made a huge difference. I didn't want to buy a watch (no.more.gadgets) so I downloaded this app for $0.99. You can set the intervals in 15 second increments and it keeps track of number of cycles and time spent in each one. The alarm is loud. I recommend!
Weren't there? No problem -- you can still donate to my page :)
And check out his page and info here. You need some new tunes in your life!
Training update: Still figuring out how to run during the week - with baby going to bed earlier, and husband leaving for work earlier, evening temps of 95 degrees, and getting up early anyway, coming up with an hour is difficult. [Said every working person ever].
Lexi and Clementine rockin' out.
Five miles on Saturday morning!
From now on group practices start at 6 am, with a meet time of 5:45 am --- I actually heard a rooster crowing halfway through the run! Also ran intervals for the first time - four minutes of running / one minute walk x duration of run. Made a huge difference - that little minute is such a respite. AND I was greeted with cheers and bell-ringing upon completion - so fun and affirming!
Your donation gets me out of bed and money into the hands of researchers working for cures and treatments that have wide application for blood and solid tumors alike.
Thanks for your support!
This Saturday was the kick-off event for the Team In Training season. So inspiring to see so many people passionate about a cause!
Practices start this Saturday at 7 am - and then at 6 am when summer really gets going. YIKES! Not only is that early but I will have to get up extra special dark early to

Then drive to the park, then run. (Sympathy donations, anyone?)
