Part Duex.

We are now o-fficially halfway through marathon training and I’m going to update your pants off. (Via bullets points, obviously.)

  • RUNNING A MARATHON MAKES ME FEEL LIKE CAPTAIN AMERICAN AND THE FREAKING KING OF THE WORLD. All caps are usually quite scary, but I promise are definitely necessary for this statement. I’m throwing it out there that running a marathon could maybe solve world hunger and bring peace to the Middle East. It makes me feel THAT good.

  • Getting up at 6 am for a long Saturday run doesn’t work so well with the following:

- Happy Hour

- Tacos

- Ice cream

- Anything fun

  • Getting up at 6 am for a long Saturday run works amazeballs with:

- Seeing the sun rise

- Feeling way awesomer than everyone bc you ran more miles in 1 day than they ran all week – all before their sorry booties were out of bed

- Breakfast tacos and day drinking

  • In general, people who run marathons to raise money for charity are super duper nice. Coming to practice is often like a big hug. And come on, who doesn’t love a big ‘ole hug?! Awww, warm fuzzies! Ahflasdjfasdlfjasdkfjakjfa

  • Did you know you have eat while you run a marathon? Like, you have to consume calories so your body has something to burn. The snack-de-run (play on soup-de-jour… get it… it’s not really funny) is this goo stuff that really tastes like butt. I only recommend it for other marathon runners or as a gift for someone you don’t really like.

  • Running this race and raising money in honor of one of the greatest people I know is by far the best thing I have ever done. This is bucket-list, life changing, awesomeness. Period. End of Story.

Wanna race? :)

Hello friends, family and all party peoples. Welcome to my Team In Training home page and my first post as an official marathoner-in-training, fundraiser for Leukemia and crappy blogger.

MAN. Writing this intro post is HARD.

I’ve gone through about 4 versions of this thing now, all of which have contained some variation of the following topics:

- My love of running

- Why haven’t I run a marathon before?

- My high school running days

- Am I scared of training?

- Can I actually complete a marathon?

- Inspirational quote

- My stepdad’s recent diagnosis of Leukemia

- Its affect on our family

- Make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training

- Leukemia is bad and terrible

- We should find a cure

- How can I contribute to finding a cure?

- Doing something bigger than yourself is important

- Inspirational quote

- Make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training

- Training for a marathon is scary

- Leukemia is even scarier

- Make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training

Add writing this while trying to be concise and witty and funny and inspiring…

So let me summarize: I am running a marathon to raise funds to help find cures and better treatments for Leukemia. I would sincerely appreciate your support through a donation.

XO.

Updates and more fun blog posts to come.
