THANK YOU!!

Saturday, April 16th, I completed the Zooma Half Marathon and surpassed my
fundraising goal of $1300 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society because of YOUR contribution.
I joined Team in Training five years ago in honor of a complete stranger, Lisa Ward, a Hodgkin’s survivor. When I joined, I had no connection to blood cancers; this stranger’s disease was a good enough reason for me to run and raise funds. As the years went by, I met more and more people who have been affected by cancer and I have added them to my list of people that I run in honor of. It saddens me that not only does this list continue to grow, but that some are now placed in my list of people who I run in memory of.
I always think about these people during my race and undoubtedly, they are the reason I cross the finish line. This race however, was just a bit more meaningful. Not only did I have the honor of running with our team honored hero, Lindsay Essery, but I ran in honor of the most important man in my life, my dad.
My dad was recently diagnosed with Rectal Cancer and on the Monday before the race, he started his first chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Never would I have imagined that cancer would hit this close to home. I now run with a new and increased passion for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and its goal of finding a cure; for it is not only blood cancers that we are trying to cure, but Cancer alone. Your continued support has helped made it possible for that goal to one day become a reality and I cannot thank you enough for helping me reach my goal and putting us one step closer to finding a cure!

Racing to Save Lives
Hey, everyone. Yes, I'm at it again! This time I will be training for the Zooma Austin Half Marathon on April 16th (My Birthday Weekend). This will be my 7th season with Team in Training, and I hope you will be able to help me with this wonderful cause once more!
I joined Team in Training four years ago when I found out someone in my desired profession had been diagnosed with a blood cancer, Lisa Ward. She was a complete stranger who has now become my very dear friend. Last season I had the pleasure of being on the same team with her as she trained and finished her very first half marathon, Rock 'N' Roll San Antonio Marathon with TNT!
I am dedicated to this team because I know The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is committed to curing leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma and helping patients and their families. While raising funds, I have met people who have been helped directly from the Society, and they are very grateful because LLS helped when no other organization would. You can be rest assured that your contribution is being invested wisely.
So, I ask you to please open your hearts and wallets to help me raise $2000 to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by March 1st. If 40 people donated just $50, my goal can easily be met. Please remember ANY amount is greatly appreciated!
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
