Dear Family and Friends,

This year, J and I have made a huge commitment to join the fight against leukemia and lymphoma, and we are asking for your help.

As part of this commitment, we will be doing something we both would have thought impossible before – we have joined the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training, and we are going to run 10 miles in the Austin 10/20 Race on April 15, 2012. For each step that we take, we are asking people to make a donation that will go towards the research and treatment of these terrible diseases.

In our short time on this journey, we have both come to many important realizations. When we first signed up, we did so with the idea that this would be a great way to challenge ourselves, get healthier and become closer to each other – so far, those things have been happening in amazing ways. But the biggest realization we had was that this training and this fundraising that we are doing is not about us. It’s much bigger than us.

The friends we have made through Team In Training have shared heartbreaking stories about lost family members and dear friends, and we have seen in our own circles the devastation that cancer can have. Delia and I are committed to doing everything we can to raise money for the great work that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is doing to make a difference for cancer patients and their families.

We are extremely grateful for any donation we receive, whether it be $2 or $200, so please do not hesitate to give as little or as much as you can. Our goal is to raise $3000 together, and we believe with the great network of family and friends that we have that we can reach our goal.
