Special Thanks to Shelly Leeke & the Shelly Leeke Law Firm!
Aug 28, 2013 by Mary Antley

Let me take a moment to extend a special thank you to Shelly Leeke and the Shelly Leeke Law Firm. Their generous donation put me past my original goal of $1,250 and up to the 65% mark of my personal goal. Thank you so much for your generosity...it will go to help saves lives and support the families of blood cancer patients.

On a side note, if anyone is ever in the need of a personal injury, worker's comp., or social security attorney make sure to check out Shelly first. She is well-versed in her practice areas and dedicated to her clients. (Not to mention my former boss.) Check out her website here: http://www.leekelaw.com/

Fundraising Update
Aug 20, 2013 by Mary Antley

It's been WAY TOO LONG since my last post...here's what's going on:

My Premier Designs Jewelry Show with Heather was last Friday. Thanks to all of the ladies who showed up, we raised $155 for LLS! Special thanks to Heather who donated part of her commission. Downside…I still have junk food from the party sitting around my house.

I’ve been working everything out for my next fundraiser Bar-B-Cure & Silent Auction, which will take place at Jim ‘N Nick’s in North Charleston on September 4 from 6-9 p.m. Check out the public Facebook page for more information. While you’re there, make sure to click that you are attending and invite all of your Facebook friends to help spread the word. I’ve already designed flyers for the event, as well as the bid sheets for the silent auction. I have 25-30 items for the auction that range in retail value from $30 to $300, so there should be something there for every budget. I’ll be preparing a list of all of the items this weekend and I’ll post it here this week or next week.

Tonight, I am going for a run after work, which will end at Yogurt Mountain where we are having a TNT fundraiser from 4-9 pm. 20% of all sales will be donated!

Stop by if you are in the area!

What...you ran a mile!
Jul 29, 2013 by Mary Antley

It’s been two weeks since my last post…and, let me tell you, the last two weeks have blown by. Here are some of the events since my last post:

1) I ran 1.1 miles last night. Yes it was indoors in 70 degree AC, but it was till 1.1 miles straight. My local rec center has a .1 mile indoor track, so last night, I walked 1 loop, ran 11, walked 1, then ran 5 and walked 1 three times…for a total of 5K! It is horrible of me, but I love lapping the elderly people walking on the track. LOL

2) I got my LSAT score up to a 164! Only to dropp back down to a 159. Sad and frustrated, but here’s hoping that it will help me fix some weaknesses.

3) Wine Tour For A Cure raised $210! I missed some people who couldn’t make it, but want to thank everyone who did, including Theresa, Travis, Sean, Stephanie, Kim, Shedrick, Marc, Erica, Corey, Tiffany, and Doug. Special thanks go out to Heather and Amy for brining friends along. If you bought tickets, but couldn’t make it that day…your entire $20 went straight to LLS!

4) I my first appointment with a chiropractor. I go back today for x-rays and my first adjustment. Hopefully this will help the headaches go away.

5) Waited all week for my sister and her family to get here from Japan, but they weren’t able to get a military flight until today. Still no telling when they will make it to Charleston.

6) Added four minutes to my four mile time this Saturday…I am going to blame the humidity.

7) I got my Premier Designs Jewelry in yesterday and I am wearing my favorite piece today. (See pic below) Don’t forget about my Jewelry Party on August 9. 25% of all sales will go towards my fundraising efforts.

Here's a pic of Sean and me from our run on Saturday. I think I look like I ran twice as long as twice as fast as he did.

Make sure to keep my other upcoming fundraising events in the back of your mind:

Drawing for a $200 gift certificate to Blu Gorilla Tattoo Shop. July 31. Donate $10 and get one entry, plus for every additional $5 donated, you get another entry!

Shop for a Cause: Premier Designs Jewelry Party. August 9, 6:30-9pm at my house. There will be food, fun, and fashion jewelry. 25% of all sales will be donated to LLS.

Bar-B-Cure & Silent Auction. September 4, 6-9pm at Jim 'N Nick's in North Charleston. Jim 'N Nick's is donating 10% of all food sales to LLS. There will also be a silent auction with lots of stuff to bid on. I will post more on this closer to the date.

Thanks for reading!
