From her Friends in Jasper County, SC
We are all very thankful for the love and support from the community for a cause that Wendy was so very passionate and dedicated to. There were two magnificant window panes (a Clemson Tiger one and a Carolina Gamecock one) that were auctioned off at the Gopher Hill Festival two weeks ago. The auction brought in $650.00 that was sent in and applied towards Wendy's goal!! Thank you to all who participated and bid on a great cause. We all know how Wendy felt and how much time and effort she has put into preparing for this race. Her memory lives on in each and every one of us daily! Please keep Kaye Sanders in your thoughts and prayers as she continues this run on October 16 without Wendy by her side, but we all know that Wendy will be with her in spirit and will be pushing her along!
Guest Post from TNT: Our Team in Training group in Hilton Head/Beaufort has a heavy heart as we mourn for Wendy and her family's loss. Her death reminds us how precious life is, and how hard we must work for a cure. We have a special place in our hearts for someone so amazing as Wendy. Our group is training in her memory now, and we invite you to visit our Team Page to learn about the ways we are honoring Wendy.
I went to visit friends and family in Southern California. It was nice to see them and it was refreshing to get a morning run in the cool weather with no humidity. I will be focusing for the next month in fundraising and training for the half marathon coming up in San Francisco October 16th. I was thrilled to see how supportive my cousins are of me doing this in Memory of our Aunt Hortencia Recio Hernandez. Thank you all that have contributed and are helping me make my goal a reality. My birthday is coming up October 21st and it looks like I will be asking for early presents donations to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ;)

That is right I didn't fall on my face. We had our first team run yesterday after going over lots of intersting factors, having the right shoes, drinking enough water, carrying your own tissue incase you have to make a quick stop behind a bush (this is when I wish i was a boy) I was pleasantly surprised that I ran...wait let me say that again I RAN. Brings a smile to my face :) Okay I am doing my part and at the same time having fundraiser I need you to pitch in w/ $10.00 that what you would spend on a Margarita for me so come on under other donate $10.00. I have sent a total of $830.00 which still is not appering on my page but it will. So if 7 people pitch in $10.00 that will be awesome!!! Thanks for reading.
