Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
It's almost marathon time!!! In less than 2 weeks I'll be making the trip to D.C. to run my first marathon for cancer. We've been training for 5 months, I've been able to make it through a 20 mile run, and I feel ready to take on the challenge. Thanks to everyone who has donated to the cause already!! (Your donations have been sent in; the counter hasn't been updated this week, so if you don't see your name and donation yet, check in later this week...a lot of people have helped in a huge way!!) And if you haven't donated, it's not too late...every little bit goes a long way in fighting cancer!!
I can't wait to cross that finish line knowing you and I have made an impact in someone else's life by helping advance the fight against cancer.
I'm running this race in memory of my grandmother, Betty Seegars, who lost her battle to cancer this past March. And also in honor of fighters like Ruth Buchanan. She was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia) when she was 5. She underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatment for 2 and a half years. Currently in REMISSION, Ruth is a 12-year-old who has overcome great obstacles! She can inspire us all! She's just one of the many who can benefit from your donation!!
Thanks again for your continued support!!
Check out my running blog! I will keep you posted here on how my training is progressing!
