WELCOME TO MY TEAM IN TRAINING (TNT) HOME PAGE

I will be participating as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team in Training, and raising funds to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.

If someone had told me 8 years ago, "you would be training for an Ironman Race to raise money for LLS" I would've told them, "Me?! I think you have the wrong girl? Can't I just donate directly? They take checks right?"

Swimming 2.4 miles? Sure ok, I'm a decent swimmer but its been years...

Biking 112 miles? Umm does biking around town count?.. 

Running 26.2 miles? Ha! Don't make me laugh!

Then the "big C" happens to your family and all bets are off...

When your husband, your family member and/or friend is directly impacted by Leukemia, and your world is turned upside down by blood cancer... The caregiving, the treatments, the side effects, praying they survive a horrible disease and not be another cancer statistic...You just don't let something like that go...

You get scared, then angry, and finally very passionate about helping to fund treatments for others. 

Treatments that save lives every day; like immunotherapies that use a person’s own immune system to kill cancer. You may not know it, but every single donation helps save a life with breakthrough therapies such as these.

Patients and their families need these cures and they need your support. 

This has been an 8 year journey in the making. My husband was diagnosed in Santa Rosa 2010, and given the location I will be racing to fund a cure both in the Santa Rosa Half Ironman July 2018 and Santa Rosa (full) Ironman May 2019. Both events are near to our hearts since they also bring tourism and commerce to a region that was ravaged by wildfires in 2017.
