Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page. That's me up there (coach Charlie is on the right... he brought me in the last half mile - bless him!)... entering the chute to the finish line on my first full marathon! What a feeling! I raised $2,500 for LLS AND completed a 26.2 mile marathon... no words can describe it!

I'm training to participate in my second full marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

LLS DOES make a difference in the lives touched by blood cancers. They have taken our funds and hired research scientists that have just recently developed 2 new promising drugs for treating blood cancers! That is exciting news... especially if you have a loved one (or you are) fighting a blood cancer.

I am back with the City Tote fundraising special! I'm very excited about this one!!!

Michelle at www.keykalou.etsy.com has generously allowed me to use her fun and easy City Tote pattern to sew completed bags and offer them as a fundraising incentive. I have been making the City Tote for personal use for a year now... I love the pattern and the bag is just so fun and versatile. It's the perfect size and easy to get in and out of and fun to sew up in different prints to match my day! (I have also purchased several other patterns from Michelle and love the Camera case Wristlet, too! It's adorable made up in the pink sock monkey print!)

Wow! I didn't expect these City Totes to be so popular! Thank you for all of your support! I have 12 more in the making and will update this site when they are available. :O)

12 mile walk in Knight's Ferry this weekend... I am still nursing a knee injury and won't run until that is resolved, but keeping my mileage up so that it will be an easier transition back to running. Coach Charlie figured out that my shoes were too small so off to Fleet Feet we went and ordered a new pair of larger shoes... Holy Cow I can't believe how big we ordered them... I hope they don't look like clown shoes!
