I am Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to Michelle's Team In Training home page.
Thank you for your support while I am training to participate in the Nike Womens Marathon in San Francisco a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. I have only a few weeks left in my fundraising and I really need your support!
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Did you know that Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young adults under the age of 20? The 5-year survival rate for Leukemia is now 50%. We at Team In Training are working hard to help improve those survival rates yet we still have along way to go to wipe out these diseases.
With your help, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society can fund their research to increase the survival rates or even find a cure for these cancers. Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
Here is what your donation will do:
$5 will pay for sending newly-diagnosed patient information about support and their disease
$25 covers a single prescription co-payment
$35 pays for transportation for rural patients to receive treatment at a comprehensive cancer center.
$40 pays for sending a comprehensive information packet to children with cancer.
$50 covers the cost of a CT scan.
$75 pays for tissue typing to become a bone marrow donor.
$100 provides three patients access to an information teleconference.
$150 allows five patients to make a First Connection with a trained peer volunteer.
$200 funds one Family Support Group meeting of 9-15 participants.
$500 gives a patient one year of financial assistance for transportation and co-pays.
$1000 supports one week of salary for a blood cancer researcher at UCSF, Stanford, or UC Berkeley.
May I count on you? (your donation is 100% tax deductible).
Any amount counts and is greatly appreciated! I hope you will visit my web site and attend one of my fundraising events. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress and to see when my events will be. Thanks for your support!
