Racing to Save Lives

I'm training to run the Nike Women's Half-Marathon in San Francisco October 17th as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training (TNT). This will be my third event with Team in Training and my second half-marathon. Team in Training has become a very special part of my life! I have seen firsthand the good works LLS does for those battling blood cancers, and I am committed to their mission to find a cure.

All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I have been blown away by the number of people I have talked to since I began this journey whose lives have been changed by blood cancers. It affects so many! I am training to honor them, and know that together we can make a difference.

6/21/10 - I finished the San Diego Rock 'n Roll Marathon--Woohoo! Our team raised over $45000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I've started my training and fundraising for the Nike Half-marathon. A five mile training run seems so easy after running 26.2!

9/22/10 - I'm up to 10 miles with a little over three weeks to go! It's been tough to get all my runs in this season as my stepdad has been really sick. He passed away on the 3rd from colon cancer. It has strengthened my resolve to raise funds for LLS. The research they do for blood cancers helps to find treatments for all cancers. GO TEAM!
