Racing to Save Lives

I'm training to run in the Nike Women's Half-Marathon in San Francisco October 18th as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. I've never run a half-marathon before (in fact, I haven't run at all for 15 years!), but with the support of my team, I'm confident I can reach my goal.

All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

I have been blown away by the number of people I have talked to since I began this journey whose lives have been changed by blood cancers. It affects so many! I am training to honor them, and know that together we can make a difference.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. At least seventy-five percent of your donation will go directly to research and patient services.

8/31/09 - I am up to 4 miles on regular runs! Wednesday I'll run 6, then Saturday it's 8. Wish me luck :)

9/5/09 - Eight miles...piece of cake!

9/21/09 - I ran in Park City Utah last week. It was really hard at 7600 feet elevation (and lots of hills), but I got in three runs. This Saturday I will run at least TEN miles = 0

With love and gratitude,

linda
