Iyanna - Our Hero

Below is the story of my dear friend Stacey and how she discovered her daughter had Leukemia:
In March of 2010, Iyanna had been sick for a week. So we took her to the urgent care, and they said it was a throat infection. She was on antibiotics for a week, and still not getting better. She became very lethargic, and complaining of leg pains. She didn’t want to play at school, she would just keep her head down. Her teacher (Ronni Nelson) called me and said that she had to carry Iyanna to the nurses office one day because she wasn’t feeling good and her legs were hurting so bad, and she was very concerned and worried about her. She advised me to take her for testing immediately. I asked her if she was concerned for Iyanna because of her daughter, Chrissy? She said yes!!
Iyanna During Treatment:
Iyanna and Stacy now:
I met Stacey 2 1/2 years ago and within 3 months of knowing her she convinced me to run my first race. Now here we are my third time running with Team with Family and friends by my side. For those who have not heard my mother has to have foot surgery and is now unable to compete in the race, but my fiance is filling in for her. I am very sad she will not be running with us but I know she will be on the sidelines cheering us all on.

We are here to not only challenge ourselves to run 19.3 miles over 2 days (that doesn't include all of the walking around Disneyland!) but we are here to challenge you to help us along the way. How can you help you ask? A simple donation of any size is all we need. We are raising funds to help Kick Cancers Butt!

Together, there’s no telling what we can do. As a Team, we can combine efforts to save lives.
Welcome to our homepage.
Throughout different cities and towns people are coming together to create separate teams to participate in a sports endurance event all with one common goal to honor and benefit all individuals battling blood cancers. Members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training will be creating teams, large and small, that will be participating in sports events across the country. They will be raising funds to help find cures and more effective treatment for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. As a team, we can accomplish great things towards cures for blood cancers.
If you know of a team or individual participating in Team In Training, feel free to make a donation to support LLS’s effort to find cures and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
