Update on my half marathon progress - 8/15/2009


What a long and amazing journey this has been so far! I went from not being able to run a quarter mile (don't laugh) to running miles at a time. Without stopping. Or falling over. Or calling someone to come pick me up! And trust me, that has crossed my mind quite a few times! My goals for the half marathon have changed over time. I went from saying I would run three miles straight and then walk the other ten (again, don't laugh). I have now committed to running atleast five - seven miles straight with hopes of running ten miles straight. I am down to the final seven weeks prior to the marathon and am really having to push myself.


Thank you to all of you that have supported our numerous fundraisers. Our team has recently reorganized but we are on track to acheive our fundraising goal!


Join us in Plumas Lake on Sunday, August 23rd for a Music in the Park event featuring the Chris Gardner Band from 5pm - 7pm at Eufay Wood Sr. Park. Food will be available for sale. All proceeds from the event will benefit LLS.


Also, on Sept 1st - Chili's in Yuba City will be donating 10% of their proceeds to our group. Let me know if you plan to attend so I can provide you with a flier.

I am training to participate in the CoreLogic Cowtown Marathon on October 4, 2009 in Sacramento as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.


I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
