Racing to Save Lives Welcome to my Team In Training home page. Visiting this website for the first time? Here's the background: Training began in early February for my first endurance event, a 100-mile bike ride around Lake Tahoe. On June 7, as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training, our Team completed the ride! Woohoo! All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! I personally would like to thank all of you for your generous donations and support! My lender-friend, Manuel, helped me learn about the importance of the nutrition during training and the ride! You are awesome, Manuel! My neighbor-friend, Brian, helped with the maintenance and fine tuning of my bike. I LOVED having my own personal mechanic and nutrition consultant! As a result of their efforts, the coaching and mentoring of TNT, and my commitment to training, I completed the ride with no injuries and felt great at the end. One more thank you - to my family! They were totally supportive and there for me at the start and finish lines! Love you guys!! Thanks again! This was a truly memorable experience. |
