DONATION INCENTIVE - Donate Money - Win Prizes!
Alright people - This season, for every donation I receive, I will assign you a raffle ticket. The number of tickets you are allotted will go up based on your donation. You will be entered to win a mixed case of wine from some of Sonoma County's best vintners - Don't miss out! If you live out of state and win the prize, don't worry, I'll get it shipped to you - free of charge - all because you donated to my cause! (Sorry I can only ship wine to US residents!)
Another option - Guess My Time - Win a prize! For every person who donates $25 or more to my Team in Training Efforts you are given the chance to guess how long it will take for me to finish running a full marathon. Here are some things you should know to help you guess my time: I ran the half marathon in San Diego in 2.5 hours. The full marathon is twice as long as the half marathon (!!) and I run five minute intervals with one minute of walking recovery and it takes me about 11 minutes to finish a single mile.
As always - my running is for a specific reason, to remember those who have fought the battle and lost, or to honor those who are fighting the fight of their lives. Please send me the names of your personal honorees so I can wear their names on my jersey as I cross over each mile.
Celebrating our Independence with a long run! (7/4)
Summer season is well underway and everyone on the team is doing great! I'm happy to report that I've got 10 fabulous mentees who are kicking some serious TNT butt! They are doing a great job of fundraising and are making their mentor (me!) proud!
I've been doing well with training - keeping up with running about 6-7 miles on Saturday's and then doing the training during the week. A few of my mentees are running with me during the week, which helps keep me in line (for the most part!)
I have been a bit lax with fundraising so far, but am reading to kick it in to high gear. I think I needed a bit of a break from fundraising after such an amazing and successful spring season (thank you!).
Our most recent training run was on Saturday, July 4th! Whoo Hoo - this in one of my favorite holiday's! Stupidly though, I hit the wrong button on my new phone and ended up turning my alarm off, instead of snoozing! oops! Instead, I ran a long run by myself on Sunday afternoon and am ready to get the week started off right tomorrow!
Getting Ready to Kick Off Summer Season (6/4)
Well gang, its that time again when a new season starts and all the excitment is building as I wait to meet my new mentees. Our first practice is this Saturday and I am looking foward to meeitng my new teammates and gearing up for the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco.
Just like last time I am going to need your help to make this dream a reality. As a mentor I only have to raise $1,500.00 but I think its going to be a challenge after such a generous spring season! I'm brainstorming ideas and coming up with plans for the best way to raise the necessary funds! Looking forward to speaking to all of you about this event! Go Team!

I'm going to be a Mentor!
I have very exciting news! I addition to participating in Team in Training for the second season, I have signed up to be a mentor. That means I will be helping TNT first timers with getting adjusted to the program, make sure they are physically surviving and make sure they are successful at fundraising.
Over the next few days I'll be talking to my mentees and getting to know them! I am very excited for this new phase of TNT to get started.
I think this is a great opportunity for me to personally thank my Mentor - Sara, who has made TNT one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Sara has been by my side throughout this entire process and has made sure success has been at every turn. Her dedication has continued even past her race date, as she has continuously shown up at all my practices and long training runs. In fact, to make sure I finished my 12-mile training runs last season, she ran the last half of both with me, once right after completing her own event - a half marathon at Avenue of the Giants.
So, as I move on to being a mentor myself I want to say a big thank you to Sara for being such a great and inspiring mentor.
GO TEAM!

Racing to Save Lives - AGAIN!!!
Hey all - here I am, again. After almost (my race is on May 31) completing my first Team in Training event and raising over $5,000 with your help, I have decided to kick it up a notch and run the full gamut - 26.2 miles in San Francisco.
So, without any further ado - welcome to my Team In Training home page for the summer season.
As many of you know, I'm training to participate in the San Francisco Nike marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
After raising $5,000 this past spring, its going to be a challenge to raise the $1,500 for the summer season. With that said, I am counting on all of you to help me get to my goal and help as many people as possible with their personal cancer battle!
I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, but in particular, I am training in honor of my Grandmother, Margaret, who lost her battle with blood cancer in 2008 and in honor of my good friend Nikki, who beat cancer over 10 years ago!
My Grandmother, and the people we are running for, are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
This is an extremely important cause which is near and dear to my heart. It would mean a great deal to me if you could please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
