Racing to Save Lives
Welcome and thank you for visiting my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers and cannot walk themselves. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
A little bit about myself;
For the past 3 years, one of my best friends has particpated in this event and each year I've been at the FINISH line waiting for her to walk across it. Well this year, after many years of encouraging me to join her, I've decided to just do it! We will be crossing the finish line together!!!!
This is my first marathon and I'm sure it will be the longest walk of my life! If you have a loved one that has been touched with any type of cancer, please provide me with thier name and I will add it to my marathon jersey and walk in that person's honor the day of the event. You can email me their name at simplefood101@yahoo.com.
Now, comes the uncomfortable part of this event for me. Asking for a donation! If you can find it in your heart to make a donation towards this endeavor, I would really appreciate it. Your donation can be of any size, and you will be supporting my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
Also, keep in mind all donations are tax deductable.....
When you make a donation, you will receive regular updates on how I am doing at the trainings and all of my other preparations as time gets closer to my event.
Today, I'm off to purchase myself a good pair of shoes to avoid getting blisters...
Thank you for your support!
Walking in faith with your help.........
