I have completed my fund raising for the San Diego marathon.
THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!
Hello Family and Friends,
Thank you for visiting my Team In Training home page.
I have decided to challenge myself and run 26.2 miles to complete my first marathon on June 6th in San Diego. I am training and running with Team in Training, a group that raises money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is a voluntary health organization that is dedicated to funding blood cancer research and patient services.
I am asking for your help with my fundraising. My fundraising goal is $2,900 and I know with your help I will get there. Please help in any way you can. No amount is too small and all donations are greatly appreciated by me and the many patients the money will help. You can donate online here at my website or, if you prefer to send a check, please make your checks payable to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Then, please contact me for my mailing address to mail me your check and I will pass it along to the organization.
If you have any questions feel free to email me at bjsalzy1@yahoo.com
I am running in honor of my friend Diane from Colorado who is a 15 year Leukemia survivor. When the training or the race get tough, I will think of Diane and the people we are helping and know I can finish my journey.
As I run the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon on June 6th, I will be thinking of you and how you helped me achieve my goal!
Thank you for your support and generosity!
Training updates

My training is going great and I even ran another half marathon in the beginning of the month in Disney World. This past Friday we had a spring snow storm here in Denver, so I wondered if I should really go try to run 13 miles in the cold and snow on Saturday morning. It didn't take long to decide that I must get out there with my team and run. There were about 12 of us out there running at 7am in the 10 degree, snowy weather. My running partner and I made it almost 13 miles in the miserable weather. This run made us stronger and will help us reach our goal of 26.2 miles. :-)

Yesterday I had my longest run EVER... so far. I ran 16 miles in about 2 and 1/2 hours. I only have 10 more miles to the finish line :-)
I was in Arizona visiting my family so I was able to hit this point in my training in the beautiful, warm Arizona sun.
