Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am training to participate in the Denver Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of family, friends and all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
This is my second season with Team in Training and I'm looking forward to setting new goals in fitness and fundraising. Last year I joined to support my friend Michele because her Mom was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2007. Because of a new drug found through Leukemia & Lymphoma Society research she is doing well and is on her way to remission. Without LLS this drug may not have been developed. I know they are on the brink of more discoveries and I want to help them! Please join me and make a donation to help advance LLS's mission!!
This year I'm also racing in honor of our family friend Jeannie who is currently battling blood cancer. I will be thinking of her and sending her strength on my journey. I'm also honoring the memories of my Uncle Gayle and our family friend Ruth.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!

Happy Mother's Day! to celebrate Mother's Day and to get some more race experience, I ran a 9K race in Boulder today with a friend. I'm shocked to say that I completed it in 1 hour and 7 minutes! That is a 12 minute a mile pace. This is the fastest pace I've maintained for this distance. I'm so glad we made the time to drive to Boulder, it has really boosted my confidence! The season TNT kick-off is Wednesday. I can't wait to meet my teammates and be inspired all over again!

I ran the Steamboat Half Marathon and saw LOTS of TNT members teraing up the course. It was great to see the coaches too pedaling up and down the course making sure everyone was doing great! This is a beautiful race and I was able to take 15 minutes off of my half-marathon time. YEA me (and you too Beth!)! Training with the team is great, it is fun to give others insight and pump them up now that I'm a veteran.
Unfortuantely my friend Jeannie isn't doing well with her Leukemia Treatment. She has stopped responding to the treatments and has decided to just enjoy her family in the time she has left. Terribly sad but I know she has given her all to fighting this disease. She is such an inspiration she always had kind words for me whenever we met and such a sunny outlook. Please donate so we can fight blood cancer and find a CURE! YOU can make an incredible difference in the lives of the people who have blood cancer. Go ahead GIVE!
I've had a busy season trying to get in my training days. I've gone through bouts of doubt and thinking I must truly be crazy. Well with my marthon just two weeks away the panic is subsiding and I'm in auto mode. Last week I ran 23 miles. No that is not a weekly total but a single run! I'm sure I will get through this now and just want to make it to race day healthy.
Unfortunately our family friend Jeannie passed away this summer so I will be racing to honor her memory. Help me by donating. Your donation will continue to fund the research that WILL find a cure. Go ahead GIVE!! I appreciate your support.
