Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I am completing this event in honor of Damon Sadowski. Damon was diagnosed just after his 21st Birthday in September 2009 while serving in the United States Army in Iraq. Damon's Lt. Colonel called his Mother (my friend Maryann) from Iraq two weeks before Thanksgiving to tell her that her son was in a civilian German hospital with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. When she got to Germany she was informed that his cancer cell count almost hit 200 thousand and he should have been dead.
They are now at Lackland AFB staying in a Fisher House for who knows how long while they wait for a bone marrow transplant. They do have 4 really good matches but they need to make sure they do not have any infectious diseases.
There are still alot of things that can go wrong and he could still die from all of this, so we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
Peace,
Dave
P.S.
If you would like to contact Damon or his mother. Contact them on Facebook.
