Hugh is riding 100 miles to fight blood cancer

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to complete a 100 mile bike ride as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in memory of my Dad who passed away from Lymphoma this past March, as well all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

The training for this event over the next 4 months will be grueling, but the pain and suffering I will experience is NOTHING compared to that which my Dad and millions of cancer patients face each day. This is my motivation!

The picture below is of me and my Dad at Golden Trout Camp in the Eastern Sierras in 1995, the summer following his first cancer treatment. My Dad was able to experience this dream of his due medical advances and research funded by LLS. This trip was an aggressive adventure that started with a 10 mile hike into camp, where we based at the camp in tents like you see for a week. It was a marvelous experience to "rough-it" with my Dad in the California wilderness and was a true testament to my Dad's spirit of survival.
