Welcome to the Team Lawson homepage!

Gary and I are so excited to embark on this journey once again. As some of you may recall, back in 2009, Gary and I decided to join with Team in Training to raise money to help battle Leukemia and Lymphoma. We raised over $2000 each, and showed our spirit by running in the Bayshore Marathon and Half Marathon.

This year we will be running in the Steamboat Springs Half Marathon on June 2nd. We have a very big goal to meet, but we are confident in the giving hearts who helped us raise the money previously.

The Story Behind the Run

This is something that is very near and dear to my heart. In November 2007, at 25 years old, one of my best friends, Jessica Schneider, came down with Lymphoma. It was difficult to see her and her family go through such a difficult event, but she did it and she is now cancer free!!!

Gary and I believe VERY strongly in this organization, and want to show our support by running and raising money to help people, like Jessica, who come down with this type of cancer.

If you know Jessica, she is a fighter. She gave everything she had to getting better. She is such an inspiration to me. If you don't know her, I think you would be lucky to meet her one day. Not only is she a great friend to me, she is a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She touches the lives of many people, I want to make sure that I continue to support this cause, and give everything I have because she is worth it to me. I am so blessed to still have my friend...

Together, there’s no telling what we can do. As a Team, we can combine efforts to save lives.

Throughout different cities and towns people are coming together to create separate teams to participate in a sports endurance event all with one common goal to honor and benefit all individuals battling blood cancers. Members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training will be creating teams, large and small, that will be participating in sports events across the country. They will be raising funds to help find cures and more effective treatment for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. As a team, we can accomplish great things towards cures for blood cancers.
