Racing to Save Lives

Hello everyone,

So I've decided to sign up to do a 100 mile bike ride. Why would I subject myself to such an insane physical feat voluntarily you might ask? Well, first of all, the ride is an event held by this awesome charity organization called Team in Training. To prepare for the "century" as its called in the industry, I will be training all summer with professional coaches and a team of like-minded folks throughout Rhody. As for the charity, they are focused on raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

These diseases are killers, we all know that. We've all either lost someone to cancer or witnessed a miraculous recovery of a friend or loved one. Everyday, there is an army of people out there working towards ensuring that the recoveries outnumber the senseless deaths. They are doctors, scientists, researchers, nurses, and volunteers. Believe it or not, you can join this army, and with enough of us fighting for better ways to prevent, treat, or cure these cancers, we can make a difference. By donating to my fundraising campaign, you and I have taken a step towards improving the quality of life for people currently battling cancer, helping them afford medication, treatment, and patient services. With your help, we can join together to not only one day find a cure, but improve the lives of real people, today.

To bring this round full circle, my fundraising goal is to raise $2500, yes twenty five hundred dollars, 75% of which goes straight to finding a cure for cancer and to assisting patients with paying for medication and other care. So now we get to the part where I ask you all for something; Please donate however much you can personally afford, keeping in mind the amazing affects your money can have on people's lives and on the path to finding a cure for cancer.
