"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world."
Harriet Tubman
Thank you all for taking a look at my fundraising page. This is both a dream and honor to to be doing. It is a dream becuse I will be finally doing a half marathon in a beautiful city with friends. And it is an honor, because we will be running in memory of Haley Ferrarini.
Haley is the daugher of my friend Shawna, whose life was cut short due to Leukemia. She was only 6 years old and we will be running on what would of been her 16th birthday weekend. In fact, our team name is, Haley's Sweet Sixteen. This should prove to be a fun, emotional, exciting, and challenging weekend and I am ready for it all.
As ready as I am, I need your help. In order to be part of this amazing weekend, I need to raise $3200. I know it is a lot of money, but I am sure it can be done. Asking for money is not an easy thing for me to do, but this cause is near and dear to my heart. If I can help just one family, it will all be worth it.
I am on a mission! And that mission is to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in the Nike Women's Half Marathon as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, the funds we raise will help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please help by making a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures. I am asking for a minimum donation of just $32, and with just 100 people, I will reach my goal. However, remember, no amout is too small, every dollar is a blessing.
Our team will also be pinning ribbons to our shirts with the names of those we want to honor/remember. If you have a loved one that you would like us to run for, please add their name in the comments and I will be proud to add that ribbon to my shirt.
Once again, thank you! Nicole
