It's that time of year again. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training has begun. This year I will be participating in the Cox Providence Half-Marathon on May 1. The 13.1 mile run will bring me around the East Side and finish downtown.

The picture above is from last years event, the NYC Nautica Triathlon. Before each event Team in Training hosts a dinner for their participants and has a motivational speaker. Last year's speaker was named Murph and he is a survivor. One day his daughter asked him if he could keep her "safe". Murph realized that there are some things he cannot protect her against just as his parents could not protect him from Leukemia. I then thought of my own daughter, and at the time my unborn daughter. I found myself as helpless as all parents against the uncontrollable. The next day as I hugged my daughter before I jumped into the Hudson River, I realized that by being a part of Team in Training I was doing my best to keep my daughter "safe". I did not have my best performance in NYC last year, but it was the most emotional and memorable experience.

I ask that you help me keep my daugters "safe" and everyone else safe. By supporting me with a donation you will do your part in helping the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society find a cure, and help keep others "safe".

I hope you will visit my website often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks again for your support!
