Hi everyone!!

so time for an update already.

As some of you may know, my dear friend Amanda Massa was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. This makes the marathon and this cause very real to me. I originally signed up with the LLS just to support a good cause, but now im doing it for Mandy. I can think back to high school when i met Mandy in chorus, she was a newly imported girl from Cali and we became the best of friends fast. She was always so supportive of me, so to think i can do this to honor her and the amazing person she is overwhelms me.

Mandy is currently on the road to recovery and she is kicking some serious cancer ass, in only a way she could.

I'm so proud of her and i feel lucky to say not only is she my friend, but shes my inspiration and my honored hero.

When i originally signed up for Team in Training we received a bracelet with a blank spot ment for someone's name. The purpose of this bracelet is if you knew someone fighting one of these diseases you could write their name on it to inspire you to push threw the challenges that come with running a marathon. Until today my bracelet was blank. Now and forever my bracelet will read Mandy.

New adventures here i come :)

I'm racing to save lives!!

To help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers.

I'm asking for everyone's supports as i begin training for the Walt Disney World Marathon being held on January 8th, 2011.

I'm running to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in their efforts to help patients and their families navigate the process of this devastating disease as well as spread awareness about the different types of blood cancers that affect so many people.

Please contribute to this amazing organization as I run to honor the amazing heros who battle these diseases everyday.
