Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to Rob & Lynn Smythe's Tucson Century Ride page.
Rob and I are about to start our 5th year with our local Team in Training cycle team. We are participating in El Tour de Tucson on November 20, 2010. El Tour is a 109 mile road bike ride which takes place in Tucson, Arizona.
In 2007, Rob and I participated in the 25th El Tour de Tucson as team mentors. We really enjoyed the ride, which attracts over 9,000 cyclists, 5,000 of them opting for the full century bike ride. El Tour includes 2 dry riverbed crossings, where you must get off your bike and push and/or carry it though a sandy, rocky riverbed. At the end of the first riverbed crossing, there was a fully costumed Mariachi band playing for the cyclists as they exited back onto the paved road - pretty cool experience!
Donate to the Cause
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
Rob and I are completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please consider making a donation to support our participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
We hope you will visit our web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see our progress. Check out Lynn's Bike Diva site for additional information on our various biking events. Thank you for your support!
