Running Together – Helping Each Other
May 20, 2013
WELCOME AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
Team In Training participants have raised over $1.3 billion for life saving cancer research therapies that are saving lives today.
We'll see you to the finish line!
I am so inspired to join this team and help them in raising funds after going to the first meeting. This team has inspired me to push myself to my limits and beyond. I want to do as much as I can to help save a family from feeling the pain of losing someone to this disease and others. After learning how Team In Training (TNT) has affected so many lives locally, I teamed up with them to not only train for an exciting event, but to raise funds to help fund cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m dedicated to tackle the challenge of this event that has been benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for 16 years!!!:
The Rock 'n'Roll San Diego Marathon event on June 2, 2013!!!
I have always loved charity work and this one has a special place and motivation for me. My paternal grandfather died of cancer 2 years and 2 days ago just before Father's Day in 2010 and I lost my maternal grandfather 12 years ago close to the same day. With this run being in June (near Father's Day) I wanted to not only dedicate it to them, but to all my family and our close friends who have felt the pain and loss.

A Little Bit Of History
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS's) started way back in 1949, when the de Villiers family experienced the devastation of leukemia with the death of their 16-year-old son, Robert Roesler de Villiers. The mission back then and the mission now: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Team In Training (TNT) began in 1988, when Bruce Cleland of Rye, NY formed a team that raised funds and trained to run the New York City Marathon in honor of Cleland's daughter Georgia, a leukemia survivor.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with TNT
