Racing to Save Lives

In July of 2006, I was diagnosed with large B cell lymphoma and my life was turned upside down. Over the next 4 months I went through six treatments of R-CHOP Chemotherapy treatment and had to cope with the side effects of the treatment. In November of 2006, I received my last treatment. During this time my boyfriend, now fiancee was by my side and helped me get through this very difficult time in my life.

Surviving the battle against lymphoma is one that I have personally won myself and many others out there continue to fight. To help those who are still fighting their battle against blood cancer, I have decided to conquer yet another battle. This battle will be won with Pat right by my side (maybe a little further ahead in the race), encouraging me to keep pushing ahead once again. This battle is one that will also conquer the hopes of many others out there continuing to survive their fight against cancer.

The new battle, Pat and I are training to participate in is an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. We are completing this event in honor of all individuals like myself who have survived, for those who continue to fight and sadly for those who have lost thier fight against blood cancer. We need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
