Did you know that every 4 minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer?

Did you know that an estimated 137,260 people in the United States will be diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma in 2010? (That's more than the population of Beaverton, OR, which is a suburb of Portland!)

Did you know that there is hope?

Because of the money that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has devoted to research, survival rates of blood cancers are at an all time high! Children under 5 years old, who are diagnosed with ALL (a type of Leukemia) have over a 90% chance of survival! (It used to be about a 14% chance of survival.) AMAZING!

And here is how you can help...

Please join me in the fight to cure blood cancers by giving what you are able. To make giving fun, Lindsay and I have come up with a challenge:

If we raise $6,000 for LLS by May 20th, then sometime in June, we will do an activity in bikinis. (Public embarrassment for a cure?! Done and done!)

But here is the fun part! You get to choose what we do (it's kind of like choose your own adventure). Every time you make a donation, you get to cast your vote. Here is how it will work:

1. Decide on your gift amount, which determines how many votes you get:

$1-$24 = 1 vote

$25-$49 (Star Level) = 2 votes

$50-$99 (Super Level) = 3 votes

$100-$249 (Silver Level) = 4 votes

$250-$499 (Gold Level) = 5 votes

$500-$999 (Platinum Level) = 10 votes

$1,000+ (Titanium Level) = 20 votes

(The more you give, the more say you have in the outcome of this adventure!)

Option 1 involves Lindsay and I donning bikinis and riding the MAX train from the Lloyd Center all the way to the Zoo (at least 20+ minutes of public embarrassment). To vote for this option, donate and then type "MAX" in the comments section.

Option 2 involves Lindsay and I running in bikinis in the location of your choosing (one loop around the Portland Waterfront = 30+ minutes of public embarrassment and spectatorship for you). To vote for this option, donate and then write "RUN" in the comments section.

Snow or not, Option 3 involves Lindsay and I heading to Mt. Hood to ski, snow board, or snow shoe in bikinis (Burr, this will be cold AND embarrassing!). To vote for this option, donate and then type "SKI" in the comments section.
