On May 8th, 2008, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's B-Cell Lymphoma. The moment I was diagnosed, my world stopped.

After I was diagnosed, I vowed to not let this disease define me or get the best of me. Now that I have survived, I would like to do all I can to ensure that no one else has to go through this.

When I was diagnosed, I was in the process of training for my second triathlon. Now that I am survivor, my sister, Claudia and I have teamed up with Team In Training to raise at least $7,800 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) and compete in the Olympic Triathlon in Pacific Grove on September 11th. The funds that we are raising will go to research so that we can stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and myeloma from taking more lives.

I am completing this event in honor of all survivors, all who are currently cancer, and all who we have lost to cancer.
