This next Sunday is the Nike Women's Marathon - I will be walking with my team 26.2 miles. Team in Training changed my life, gave me a purpose - for Tracy. And for so many that have had their lives changed by cancer of all types.

If you have already donated - thank you so much. And if you want to or have considered donating, YOU are making a difference in a life by donating $1, $10, $100, or any amount you can.

I walk in memory and in honor of so many. Together we can and WILL make a difference for those that are and have yet to be diagnosed. I am sick and tired of cancer!

From the bottom of my heart - THANK YOU!

Well, I walked 22 miles on Saturday and it was a beautiful day! The button I am wearing on my shirt is my "I just walked 22 miles today... be nice to me" button. I am so grateful to be able to walk 22 miles - it beats chemotherapy, hospice, and grief. We are all a participant in this life and our mortal bodies are not eternal. I have, as well as many of you, experienced loss from cancer. Please consider donating to an organization determined to find a cure, care for families, care for patients - The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is making a difference in the lives of so MANY!

I have 5 days to reach my goal - please help me! I have this nice safe site you can donate on - just click the link to the right. And another reason...

Below is my Team in Training - an amazing group that are my friends. My friend, Kelly (on the far right), that started on the team in 2010 just to meet new people and exercise - but wanted to do it for a great cause... her brother was recently diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. He is 40 years old and it is a shock to Kelly and her family. Kelly started to just make a difference for others - now that difference is impacting her own life... and she is determined to be a part of a cure. For Kelly's brother... this is a new reason for me to not give up. 26.2 miles seems easier now don't you think!? Thank you for your support - all of you that have already, I am sending you a HUGE virtual hug from the bottom of my heart.

This Saturday is "OUR" birthday - the fifth birthday I will be celebrating without my twin sister - and walking 20 miles!

The impact that losing Tracy has made on me is truly something that can not be expressed in words. But I will tell you that what blood cancer took from me, from my family, will never ever be replaced. And I will walk 26.2 miles (in 5 weeks!) because I believe in miracles - and one day we will look back at the money we have raised, the miles we have walked, and we will know that we were part of something very big. I just have to believe - a little faith and just a few dollars will make a difference.

Please consider donating with your heart - a little gift for "OUR" birthday. Thank you!!

Happy Birthday Tracy - happy birthday to US!

I was supposed to do 17 miles last week but due to a wrong turn (on my part!) 1 mile UPHILL, we did 18 miles. It was tough but I am so amazed that my almost 45 year old body can walk so far. Each Saturday I am renewed with a hope - a hope that the next week I can walk 1 mile further. And with each dollar we raise together, I have hope in a cause that I believe so strongly in. Blood Cancer took Tracy - but it can't take our HOPE for a future without cancer.

As we celebrated my Daddy by honoring his military service, I felt so privileged to have the years I had him here. And the 40 years I had Tracy here. It is a constant reminder to me that life is short and we are not promised tomorrow. So we need to take TODAY and make it the best day.

I am 40% away from the minimum fundraising amount I need by September 28. I am asking that you consider even a small donation to help me reach my goal. And I still have my keychains that I would love to send you for your donation of ANY AMOUNT!

This next week I will turn 45 years old and on October 14 I WILL walk 26.2 miles. Please help me reach my goal and thank you for your constant support.

Below is a picture of Tracy and Daddy from 1994... miss them so.

It is hard to believe we are 2 months away from the Nike Women's Marathon - 26.2 miles. I am excited but every time I train the reality of why I am doing this hits me. I am doing this because of blood cancer, the evil cancer that took my Tracy and so many others. But I am also doing this for the survivors - to hopefully provide HOPE. Hope of a world without cancer.

This week we are heavy hearted knowing that another family member is dying from cancer - kidney cancer. Uncle Al is only 57 years old - a father, a brother, a son, an uncle, and a friend. This 14 miles tomorrow is for Uncle Al.

I still have quite a few of my custom key chains that my friend, Mandy (owner of Waste Not Recycled Art), donated for me to sell to raise money for LLS! The "xoxo" and "faith" are in Tracy's handwriting... I also have the "faith" on a bottle cap keychain it just isn't pictured. I am offering you one with a donation if you would like one. Once you have made your donation of my secure website I will contact you to find out which one you would like (if you want one).
