What an amazing week it has been, the excitment of letter's and donations coming in the mail and training becoming longer and more frequent. If I wasn't a good multi-tasker before, hopefully I will improve over the next few weeks.
Here are some pretty toes prior to toe nail polish removal today. Woo hoo so pretty!
After toe nail polish removal. One bruised big toe nail from pounding the pavements! Yuck, not so pretty! But all for the cause to help save lives.
Notes like these gave me that boost I needed after a long week. Thank you everyone for your support.
Our second run with the team was amazing. We met at Municipal Park this morning at 9am, and what a chilly morning it was. Getting to know the team makes me realize just how special this group really is. Together, running to help other's. As we ran down the greenbelt, several people cheered us on, recognizing our group and our cause. A beautiful and refreshing 4mile run, starting the day off just perfectly. Next up, taking my son to the Kuna school track. We as a family are all in this together, working for one cause.
Dear Friends and Family,
I am taking on a challenge! I am training to run the Boise Famous Potato Half-Marathon on May 19, 2012 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training (TNT). Since January, and for the next 4 months, I'll be running all over Boise and Kuna, increasing my miles each week so that I can run those 13.1 miles. TNT is an endurance training program whose goal is to support The Leukemia Since 1988, TNT's efforts have trained more than 540,000 participants who have raised over $1.2 billion!
In addition to their phenomenal research support efforts, the Society is also committed to offering resources, support, financial aid, and educational materials to patients, their family members and friends, and health care professionals. Many families have benefited from this organization in so many ways; this is my way of giving to families who are impacted by cancer.
I am training with an amazing group of people who have their own inspiring stories of why they are getting up at 7:30 am on Saturday mornings, bleary-eyed and caffeine-deprived, to pound the pavement for TNT. Together we are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma from taking more lives. The money we raise helps fund important research to combat not only these diseases, but ultimately all cancers.
Why I'm Doing the Half Marathon
I joined the Luekemia/Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training in an effort to make a difference when feeling so helpless, trying to find a way to help my sister affected by this disease. Each mile ran, dedicated to my sister and other’s affected. I want to do anything I can to not only help improve my sister’s quality of life, but for all those fighting this disease.
I am pushing myself to train hard, with all my heart, and with my sister and all these families in mind. If I am able with your help, to double my fundraising goal, I will double my milage as well and run the full marathon for the cause. Let’s push eachother and together do everything we can to contribute our best.
Make a Difference

Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
Love and peace,
Jennifer Bantz
