Welcome to my Team In Training home page!

Hi, my name is Carie, I'm 23 years old and I'm training to

participate in Race For the Roses 1/2 Marathon, as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. Our goal is to raise funds and awaremenss to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am doing this race in honor of all those who are battling blood cancers. They need our support to cross the ultimate finish line - finding a cure!

February 13, 2009- This morning I ran 6 miles! This is something I NEVER thought was possible. I am not a runner by any means, this is the furthest I have ever run. Each week I am accomplishing a new goal by running further than I ever have in my life! We are about 4 weeks into training, and have roughly about 2 months left before the race! Thanks to my awesome mentor, Jenn, who runs with me and encourages me every step of the way! Although it is very challenging, I'm having a lot of fun so far!
