Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in the Pacific Grove, CA Triathlon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of my teammates on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in memory of my grandmother Virginia Wrigley, and in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, including a little boy that Rowan and Kincaid go to school with. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

I am nine weeks into my training, and its been a life changing event already. Working my body this hard feels really good, and it reminds me of the physical struggle that cancer patients endure every day of their lives. I am enjoying the camaraderie of the team, and the daily sense that I am doing something that is much bigger than myself and giving back to our community. This triathlon will also help me celebrate turning 40!
