Crazy for Saving Lives
UPDATE Aprl 29 2010
Greetings everyone!
Well it's finally time, the marathon is just 3 days away! I'm spending this week resting so I'll be ready for Sunday. Admittedly I'm nervous at this point, despite having done one of these before I still find myself anxious that I'll be able to do it! We had our send-off party on Tuesday and it was wonderful to be with the Team and be with our Honor Teammate Kate. We had decided to name ourselves the "Copper and Kate Crew" for the marathon in Honor of Kate and our Teammate Chester's son who lost his battle with Leukemia a few weeks ago.
I know on Sunday having all the support from the TNT folks on the course and your support will keep me going. I also have some very special people coming to town to cheer me on. My best friend Shannon is flying into Seattle tomorrow and will come down to Eugene with my good friends from RIT, Brittany and Tony. Shannon was there for us in San Diego last year and was the first person I saw when I crossed the finish line. She cried, I cried I still cry when I think about it. This marathon means a lot to me for a number of reasons. Training for a cause has meant a lot to me and I wish that I could have done more fundraising but school manages to get in the way. Training for this marathon while in Architecture school has been a challenge like no other, getting up on Saturday mornings when all I want to do is sleep in has only be possible because I've have teammates waiting for me and something to train for.
I am still working hard to collect donations, I'm still about $300 shy of my goal and need your help to reach it. Please join me in the fight to wipe out blood cancers and make your tax deductible donation today! You can donate right now online, any amount even $5 helps us reach our goals.
UPDATE April 26 2010
The marathon is 7 days away and I'm officially nervous! Despite having done one these before I'm still neverous about being ready and especially my fundraising. This journey has been an amazing one and I want to finish strong both in the race and my fundraising. In order to do those I need your help and your support. LLS is working hard to help those fighting blood cancers and your support brings thr fruit of thier hard work to those who need it. I'm 73% of my fundraising goal please help me make it 100% and donate today!
UPDATE April 6 2010
Sad news my teammate's son just lost his battle with Luekemia today he was 7 years old. My heart goes out to them. Chester has worked so hard in his training and fundraising and his son will not get to see his Dad cross the finish line.
We can win this battle and we can find a cure but not without your help. Please join us in the fight against blood cancers and make your donation today.
UPDATE April 1st 2010
Greetings All!
I'm back from Spring Break and already in the midst of a new term. Last Saturday I headed out for my 18 mile training run and it was BRUTAL! I haven't felt that bad during a run since before my first marathon last spring. I was able to push through for the entire 18 miles though despite eyeing every single bus that passed me wondering if I could hold on to the back of it long enough to get me closer to the finish line.
I am just 2 weeks away from my charge date for my fundraising and still in need of donations. I am past my halfway mark and eager to get to the finish line of my fundraising goal. I have plans to host two events, a photo class and a pizza night. I still need your support to make my goals. One of our teammates is having to think about dropping out because his son is losing his battle with Luekemia. As a team we want to do all that we can to support him until I've reached my fundraising goal I can't do much to help him reach his. I have $700 left to fundraising and have a goal of raising half of that this week. It's only with your help that I can do this. Anything you donate makes a world of difference to those battling blood cancers. I am working hard to reach the marathon finish line so please work hard with me to reach my fundraising finish line.
Don't forget all donations are 100% tax deductible! You can send a check to me made out to The Luekemia and Lymphoma Society to 25 E. 24th Ave Eugene OR 97405 or simply donate online!

UPDATE March 7th 2010
I'm in the midst of finals but still managing to find time for training. Yesterday we ran the Rite of Spring 15k race and I did a personal best of 1 hour 33 minutes. I ran the entire 9.3 miles with no walking and managed to keep a 10 minute mile pace. I'm sore today but very happy with my results.
I've recieved $345 of my $400 goal for the week so thank you to all who donated! You're names will be added to donation box once the checks have been processed.
On a sadder note I found out today that Ellie Rosenfield passed away. She was an administrator I knew during my time at The National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester. She was a beautiful soul with the biggest smile and I'm deeply sad to know she is no longer with us. I wasn't aware of her battle with lymphoma until today and it really struck me when I learned that's what she had been fighting. I must say that this brings an even more personal meaning to my training. Please help me strengthen LLS's cause to find a cure by donating.

Welcome !
This is my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to run The Eugene Marathon
with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling cancers especially blood cancers. Hardly any of us can say cancer hasn't touched our lives in some way shape or form. We have friends and family that have lost thier battles I am running to help them survive. I have been called crazy many many times for my desire to run a marathon. They're all right, I am crazy, crazy passionate about helping an important cause.
Help me get up on the weekends so we can make strides towards a cure!
Please make a
donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance
LLS's mission.
Come back often to see my progress. Thanks for your
support!
