Racing to Save Lives Hello Friends and Family, Welcome to my Team In Training (TNT) home page. I joined the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training in February as an act of thumbing my nose at adversity. I was struck by a vehicle while riding my bike last July, breaking 2 bones and damaging an already arthritic knee. TNT brought me back into great shape and improved both me physical and mental stamina. They also gave me a chance to improve the lives of others fighting a much more important battle. The ride: June 7th, Lake Tahoe. Wow. What an experience. I mean the whole weekend. So much more than a 100 mile bike ride. Yes, I finished 101 miles in 7.5 hrs of ride time. Much more, I met so many people who just two things in common: 1) they want to leave the world a better place than they found it, and 2) they enjoy riding a bike. We are blessed to be able to do both. Here's a summary: there were over 1500 TNT riders participating in America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride. We raised over 6.8 million dollars for cancer research and patient support. I am honored to be one of those people. I greatly appreciate the contributions by my family and friends toward our goal. Contributions toward my goal of $3,600 will continue until July. My plan is to re-join TNT for this ride and fantastic experience again next year. Again, thank you to everyone for your support in so many ways. This means so much to so many people. Trish PS: That's salmon on top of my helmet. It's not a shark. Just a fish. |
